Recent blog entries I've loved

Because I don't want to blog about the singles activity I went to last night (way too depressing) and because I haven't taken pictures of fun things I've been doing lately (brunch with Krysta, BBQ with my family, a play with Kim) I'm going to blog about other people's blogs. Smart, huh?

I've fallen off my blog of the week wagon but here are some recent entries I loved and thought you'd love as well. I probably have more than this to share but guess what? My reader is up to 607. This is what happens when I get too busy at work and I don't get to take lunch (but it does make for nice results at WW - go me.)

Anyhoo...

You know how people come up with lists of things to accomplish before a certain age? My friend Jasmine's sister Autumn posted the BEST such list. Read it here. Seriously awesome. Number nine made me laugh out loud.

One of my darling/former YW, Jamie has such a fun blog. I love her. Read her letter to her life here. It made me want to write my own such letter.

I really want to get over my fear of pie-making and bake this pie but not the cookies for the crust. I love that there are people out there who go to that extent when baking but me? I buy cookies from the store and feel great about it.

I made these chocolate chip cookies today for our handyman at work who is so nice and does whatever I ask without rolling his eyes or complaining. They've got a really good flavor and a nice texture but I don't know that they're the best ever. I used all butter but didn't chill the dough so will try them again and be more exact next time.

Have you read anything interesting I need to know about???? Do share. I mean, I won't have time to read them but I might have free time again someday.

I didn't do this last week so I now have two weeks worth of blogs I want you to check out. Again, if I don't mention your blog, it's not because I don't love you. Come on, you know better than that!!! You're all my favorite.

Christie's life memories are beautifully captured here. I wonder if I could ever write something so beautiful and detailed about my past?

Janssen gets TWO mentions this week. One is because of her very helpful instructions about getting iPod-ready audio books from the library (SO cool and SO free!) and the other is her extremely clever way of announcing some totally joyous news.

Do you sense a theme here? The exceptionally beautiful Holly announced her own joyous news here. I love good news!

Liz posted a cool thing I want to try someday. Who wouldn't want their picture to show up in a music video?

Vanessa helped feed my obsession with wondering just who is dropping me as a friend on Facebook. Yes, I bought the app. Come on. Do you not know me at all??? So I dare all of you to just try defriending me...seriously.

This post from Gabi made me want to read "The Help" and I also really want to try making that pie. Have I mentioned that I've yet to make a pie all by myself? Me, the Baking Sensei? Pie crust scares me. I might get brave someday.

Blogs I Loved This Week + a TV Recommendation

First, tonight begins a new Masterpiece Classic version of Jane Austen's Emma (I think it's on the next 3 weeks.) I love these movies and can't wait to see this one!

Second, I'm not trying to make anyone feel bad because truly, I loved all of your blogs this week. Really! But there were three that I wanted to share with my friends who read this blog because 1. I thought they contained good information, 2. I thought the topic made for good discussion and 3. I just really liked reading them.

First, Elizabeth's blog entry "Dating Advice for Girls." Elizabeth is a real life friend and she's clever, smart and funny and she says a lot of things I agree with. I'd love to know what you think of some of her advice so go read and comment.

Next, Jill's blog entry, "5:24 PM." Read this and remember to do what Jill did the next time you're almost at the end of your rope (parenting or otherwise.)

Finally, Celia's blog entry, "Mi Pod." This is a list of podcasts Celia listens to. I never listen to podcasts and I'm not sure why. However, as soon as I read this, I searched in iTunes for the "Converations-A Mormon Channel Original" and downloaded some of them. General Conference is also on here (search podcasts LDS.) You can listen to them on your computer or you can save them on your iPod/iPhone to listen to when you're out and about. Excellent stuff and hello, totally free! The only podcasts I've ever listened to are American's Test Kitchen episodes and a couple of Jane Austen audiobooks. I'm going to get more.
