We have this fabulous family produce/garden shop not too far from my home. They have great flowers in the spring, awesome produce in the summer, a mountain of stinky beauty bark all year round and then rows and rows of Christmas trees in December.
In September, they have the most amazing corn on the cob. It's called "Candy Corn" in fact. It looks a lot like the corn pictured below, too! My dear sweet mother brought me some yesterday and I had it for dinner last night and tonight. So, so yummy.
So now I'm wondering -- do you eat corn on the cob like a typewriter or do you go around and around? I'm an around and around girl. My oldest brother would do the typewriter thing and he ate every thing off the cob until it was so neat and tidy. I was always very impressed by that.
Anyway, go buy some corn. It's totally worth the extra flossing. Trust me.
P.S. Dear Allens, I'm really sorry to rub it in...please come home soon!

Typewriter, I think it takes less energy/movement that way.
I totally cut the kernels off the cob. I can't stand eating it straight off the cob. Bleck . . .too messy.
I cut the kernels off of the cob too. I used to eat it straight off, I don't remember which way, its been so long, but the little hairs on the corn ALWAYS get stuck in my teeth and don't like to come out. Boo.
I like to go side to side. It's like that Mickey cartoon where Mickey, Donald and Goofy are eating corn in the camper...DING!
You MUST be talking about Carpenitos!! How about not rubbing it in to the FERGUSONS too!! I eat mine both. First I eat a line, then I go around both edges, then I finish in lines. I'm weird.
I loooooooove corn. I hate eating if off the cob though, it drives me crazy...but I'll do it. It's so dang good. I eat it from side to side. Funny question, I love it. I never thought about going round and round!! lol.
Hi Jeanelle! Thanks for voting last week--I just posted this Wednesday's too so go see!
I loooooooove corn on the cob so much and am so jealous of your family's shop! I'm totally a typewriter girl. And you are right--it's DEFINITELY worth the extra flossing! I'm going to try round and around next time to see if it tastes as good. :)
What is this great produce store you speak of and where is it?
Both...crazy, I know.
My grandpa was a corn farmer so I speak with authority...typewritter of course.
What's this around thing? Then you floss with the threads from your shirt ha ha.
Yes, Jeanelle, you are rubbing it in. Honestly, the candy corn you are talking about is the BEST corn i have ever tasted! Even better than Cache Valley Corn!!!! (speaking of CV....Go UFOC)
We actually found some corn in a store here in Germany....I would give it a C- (and that's with lots of butter, salt and pepper).
But hey, we've got LOTS of pork and potatoes over here. I went on a work dinner last week at the Spatenhaus....dinner special: Pork Knuckle. I had to pass - went with the Rosemary Steak & Salad.
BTW Last comment was from TBA. :)
Hey Janelle this is Beth (Satko) Willis (I'm pretty sure you know my family we used to be in Renton Stake but our ward is in Maple Valley now- Cedar River- and I found your blog from a link on Kari (Catron) Morgan's. Just thought I'd say hi and I have to ask where does this absolutely wonderful corn come from??? :) You have to share your secret so I can go get some!
Hi Beth -- thanks for commenting! It's Carpinito's in downtown Kent on Central. You've gotta go! They have the best stuff and it's totally worth the drive from Maple Valley just for the corn!! :)
Thanks Jeanelle!
Beth you should have asked me. Of course Jeanelle knows who we are and I figured out the wonderful place she is talking about. I hope they still have corn because I totally want to go there and get some.
