People, it is time!

For what, you might be asking? Christmas music! Well, that AND a giveaway.

I love Christmas music. Love it! If you were to call my cell phone, you would hear Christmas music instead of a boring old ring. I have an extensive collection -- over 450 songs in my iTunes and that doesn't include the CDs I haven't gotten around to adding.

I tend to like all kinds of music -- ultra traditional but also very contemporary. Really, I like anything that puts me in a happy, giving, let's make cookies and share them with the world kind of mood.

Now to the giveaway: I was putting together a playlist of my favorite Christmas songs this year and I thought it would be nice to give away a CD of my favorites to one of my 16 readers. I will also throw another surprise or two into the box, just to make this a fun Christmas treat for someone.

If you'd like to win, just comment one time and tell me your most favorite Christmas song and why. Comment away until 9 PM Pacific this Friday, Nov 21. I'll announce the winner in a post Friday night or Saturday morning.

To whet your appetite a little, this song could possibly be on the CD (it is my ringtone, after all!)

I don't need to win this cd of your's cause you sent me two volumes my freshman year so I wouldn't have to listen to Christmas in the Northwest, but my favorite song is Baby, It's cold outside, because it is in Elf and I like to sing it when it's cold and Andrew wants to play outside. :D
Love YOU!

How fun are you and I DO want to be entered (just wanted to make that clear). I LOVE Christmas music myself. I think my favorites would have to be "Have yourself a Merry little Christmas", "Mary Did you Know (only certain versions, though)" and "Oh, Holy Night".

My favorite Christmas movie is "White Christmas".

Oh wait, you didn't ask me that.

I'm satisfied with our 'Family Christmas' CD, but my favorite christmas song is between Mele Kalikimaka (for obvoius reasons), and Dean Martin's "Jingle bells.. j-j-jingle bellls..." "oh have a lotta fun"

I LOVE O Holy Night sung by Billy Gilman. I know sixty bazillion people have sung that song, but his voice is so clear and sweet that I can't help but love his version most.

Tough question! I was actually considering a marshmallow world and then realized that's what your youtube video was. Crazy! I think in our house Celine Dion's Christmas CD is the most played. - That or Donny Osmond...LOL. I love O Holy Night the most though and think it should be in our hymn books at church.

I'm laughing at the cigarette in this clip! Gotta love the 60's, huh?

I cannot pick a favorite. Love all Christmas music. But "Please Daddy Don't Get Drunk This Christmas" on the John Denver Christmas album cracked me up when I was a kid.

Now, I think it's a pretty sad song...

I hope I win the giveaway!!

I adore "What Child Is This?" because the music is so pretty. Did you know the music was written by Henry VIII (originally as Greensleeves)? Who knew he had a tender side? Actually, that's what got him (his wives) in trouble.

Also love "Angels We Have Heard On High" for the cool interplay between the alto and soprano in the gloria section.

Also love "I Heard the Bells" because of the minor key and the beautiful lyrics, written by Longfellow.

It feels like Christmas to me when i hear "simply having a wonderful Christmas time" and "Last Christmas" on the radio. I would love to win a cd of your favorites! (btw, my least favorite is "Mary Did you know"- of course she did!)

i have to pick just one song? I like that Breath of Heaven one by Amy Grant, and the Inkeeper one from the Forgotten Carols. If I win, make sure you put Christmas in the Northwest on it. :) Excited to be home for Christmas! Jonathan's favorite is grandma got runover by a reindeer!

Serious answer here, not fun like all the others.

"For Unto Us A Child Is Born". I cry everytime. It is my favorite because it quotes Isaiah 9:6 which best describes what my Savior has been to me to the depth of my soul.

My favorite since i was like ten is "The Night Before Christmas" because it's message is really good (big suprise- its a Christmas song :)) and the melody is beautiful.
i like how it's saying that not only Children, and the angels and wise men, who can experience the heart of Christmas.
It's not mainstream, so i get really excited when it's on the radio.
and Amy Grant is a beautiful singer. haha.
I also like Point of Grace's "Breath of Heaven" and "O Holy Night"

I'm not sure if it's my Favorite Christmas Song but it is in the top 5... Mine seem to change every year but this one is always on the list. It's Heirloom by Amy Grant. I love it because she sings about 2 of the things closest to my heart, my family and The Savior! And isn't that what Christmas is all about anyway!

I tear up just thinking about it!

Great idea J!
