I tried a salted caramel hot chocolate at Starbucks. Interesting but good. I prefer the black and white when I go there but truly, the best hot chocolate is the Cocoa Trio at Seattle's Best Coffee. Trust me.
I listened to the "Wicked" soundtrack. It's been a long time but it's still so wonderful.
I cried while watching "Grey's Anatomy." Between the Izzy/Denny stuff and then Meredith falling apart at the end, it was a sobfest at my house watching this week's episode.
I missed my mom who is in Hawaii this week.
I baked two cakes: the infamous carrot cake and a chocolate cake with a white chocolate mint ganache filling (will email recipes if you want them.) Tomorrow I'll be baking more brownies for our oft-rescheduled Priesthood Preview.

I bought some non-ugly glasses to read with at night when my eyes are tired and...
I feared that I will soon need to get bifocals so I can see. Getting old sucks.
I worried about YW camp. Our first 2nd YCL planning meeting is February 4 and this year's group is likely going to be a challenge to lead. I asked my home teacher for a blessing and he of course said yes and he and his wife invited me over for dinner as well (we're doing it the Sunday before the meeting.) I love having a wonderful home teacher.
I sighed with relief when my boss returned home safe and sound from a trip to a scary place.
I laughed watching Bill Clinton appear to stare longingly at Michelle Obama in her beautiful lemongrass outfit when she turned away after they greeted each other on the dais at the inaguration. Did nobody else notice this?
I read the New York Times on my Kindle. It's a free subscription for two weeks. It makes me feel smarter (at least until the two weeks are up and then I'll be "normal" again.)
I anticipated a fun dinner party with old friends tonight (the reason I baked the chocolate cake.) The girls I'll be hanging with are like my sisters.
Hope you all had a great week too!

How fun is this? I like this format a lot!
Cool! You have a Kindle! You are the first person I know who has one.
I totally bawled at GA this week too. I was really glad I was by myself when it happened. I so wish I would've seen the B.C. amdire M.O. moment. It sounds hilarious. Wait, aren't I like your sister?
We're still on for Chuck in 3D right? Still need to get glasses.
You are in primary and YW's? You are a saint.
You've been a busy girl! Think how many lives you've touched this week alone! I miss your mommy too!
Wow, I want some of that cake, yum, yum I think you must be a gourmet cook!!!
just got introduced to you via gabtalk. you are such a cheerful person! except, apparently, when watching the morbidly depressing grey's anatomy.
also, your hair is amazing.
Popped over from Gabi's blog. I loved the interview with you. Very honest and I feel the way Gabi does in that I hardly ever step outside my little mommy world and reach out to the single sisters in my ward. But I will do so now that I've been inspired.
I so want that recipe.
I blogged about wearing fake reading glasses this week. The post is completely gratuitous but I was reminded of it when I read about your buying new reading glasses.
Have a great weekend.
I've just spent way more time than is probably normal looking around your cute blog thanks to Gabi's recommendation. Love it! My favorite cousin in the world is single so I totally have a front row seat to life in the church sans hubby and kiddos. It's not always easy, for sure, but I see you handle it with aplomb. LOVE your blog and I'm going to have to make some of your yummy treat recipes.
You know I love your blog. You and me are TV and music Kindred Spirits. Loved the interview. Loved it so much that I think it's time I was added to your sidebar. You know you want me ont here.
