Giveaway -- #300

I finally made it to 300 posts here on my little blog. I can't believe it! I'm going to celebrate with a giveaway but first have something to share that's been on my mind today.

A divorced dad of three got up and bore his testimony at church today. He's had a rough year. In addition to the divorce, he was laid off and has been without work since March and is living on his savings and thanks to the goodness of ward members, he and his family had a wonderful Christmas. This was after his youngest son said "it's okay if we don't get any presents, Dad" or something to that effect.

I felt awful hearing all of this because it reminded me that I didn't do enough service during the month of December. Yes, I take care of my friends and family but I need to look around my community (or at least, my ward) and share what I have with others. I have it so good. I need to give, and of course, not just in December but all year round.

So I'm giving first to you, my faithful blog readers. The giveaway will be random, just like me. It will include:
  • an iTunes gift card
  • a brand new copy of "Twilight" audiobook on CD
  • a brand new copy of "Sense and Sensibility" on DVD (the Emma Thompson version)
  • a brand new copy of "Grease 2" on DVD (you may remember I inexplicably own TWO copies of this classic!)
  • a few boxes of Peppermint Crunch junior mints (so good and only available at Christmas!)
  • a couple of brand new tubes of my fave Mint Carmex sticks (I bought a box on eBay since they aren't available in stores anymore! Love eBay!)

This is a pretty sweet giveaway, if I do say so myself! So one comment per person of course and you have to tell me what's one thing you plan to be better at this year (a goal, a resolution, a thought...anything.)

I'll keep this open until Saturday, January 9th at 5 PM Pacific then draw one winner at random.

My resolution is:

Do what you don't want to do!

As in:

1. hug kids when they aren't huggable

2. say sorry to husband when I'm right

3. say prayers rather than go to bed when tired

4. stick to diet when I want to eat cookies.

(Fun, fun giveaway!)

I plan to make this the year that I actually make healthy eating and exercise a habit.

(I am so intrigued by cruchy jr. mints. Jr. Mints are our family's favorite and at christmas time we play a game with the red and green mini boxes where we guess what color we are going to get.)

Congrats on the 300th post. I know I have enjoyed reading them.

Oooh! What fabulous prizes you have there.

This is the year I take control of my diet. I eat SO UNHEALTHY. It's not good. Gotta work on it.

I'm reading my scriptures every single day. No exceptions.

Andrew says I have to be better at excersizing. So that is what I am going to do, I guess. :D Also, I would like to have a good attitude about school. There's only four months left, you know.

Sheesh, where do I begin? On the forefront of my mind I'd say.

1. Figure out how to be a good mom of two

2. Lose the baby weight...lame.

Study my Sunday school and Relief society lessons before class each week.I know the teachers would appreciate it and I would know what they were talking about in the lesson. Thanks for your great blogging I love reading it.

Become a real runner. Pull myself together and start reading the scriptures like a real adult, instead of a sleep-deprived teenager.

How fun!! Who doesn't love a good give-away. You're awesome. I haven't thought out all my resolutions yet, but I do know one I need to work on...de-junking. I have too many piles. Ah, unneeded stress cluttering my home and life :) And...to follow through with what my mind says, like serving others as soon as the thought pops in! xoxo

Love your blog Jeanelle! You are amazing and i am quite sure you did plenty of service this last month.
I thought yesterday that I need to be more grateful and more positive in my outlooks this year. Just be happy and grateful and do more for others. I don't know when I started getting more negative and whiney, but I surely did. You can ask Kim if I am doing it. Wow, and less judgemental too, I will do that also, geez, so much to work on....but it will be fun and wonderful and I think I will be a much happier person and funner to be around!!! Loveyou!

Now how did I miss this post?! One thing I'm going to be better about is something we agreed on in Sac. Mtg. -- I was thinking, though, that it might be fun every month or every quarter instead of waiting for December. The other thing is I'm going to be better about reading Mormon Times and the Ensign each month. I barely get past my lesson materials!

How do you know how many blogs? You're amazing with everything, including technology! I guess that's not your resolution! haha

I'm not making a bid for your giveaway, 'cause it looks like tons of people want it (ok, maybe the junior mints -- they sound delicious!), but I felt totally lame during his testimony and that was my resolution: do enough service during the year that I don't feel totally lame when someone talks about the life-changing small acts of service someone did them. And I want to finish my book.

Oh, I LOVE me a good giveaway!

Okay, it sounds cliche, but I really want to blog a little bit more this year. Last year my blogging was sort of duddy and every time I blog, I realize how much I miss it.

Scripture reading for sure too. I started last fall and really want to continue on a good track. I got off a little bit when the holidays came so it's time to get back with the program.

Your so wonderful!
1) work out & join weight watchers
2) read scripture or lesson materials every day
3) don't beat myself up when I don't do the above 2
So far so good.

I have this thing about making goals. I always end up with a full size 10 typed page broken into categories and steps to completion. All of the goals are doable and I have such good intentions, but somewhere during the year I forget about most of them. So this year I added a goal to look at my goals once a week. I know this seems silly, but if I am constantly reminded I think I will be much more likely to accomplish them.

I am resolving to try to like rain. Or, at least, not HATE it and let it get me into a dang funk. Good luck with that, KMZT. But, I'll try. ;)

Fun giveaway!
