My natural hair color is dark brown. I started plucking the occasional gray hair in my 20s. By the time I hit my mid-30s, they were taking over so I started coloring my hair.
If you are blessed with lovely silver-fox hair - yay for you. I am not that fortunate. My grays are ugly and wiry. Here is a picture to prove it:
Ick! So about 5 years ago, I started coloring & foiling my hair. Voila! No more gray. And another benefit? Before highlights, I couldn't wear the color black next to my face because it made my skin turn yellow. Now I can wear black without looking jaundiced. Here's the after picture. No more gray (except the sky outside - sorry about the bad lighting!)
Unfortunately, I'm having to color & foil every three months now which is totally expensive. I waited four months this time -- a mistake, as you can see by the first picture. I'm too chicken to try doing it myself. I much prefer going to my stylist where my hair is perfect every time. Here's a self-portrait. I need to master the fake smile. And what's with those weird shadows by my eye? Oh well, the hair is working so who cares!?!

FABULOUS! BTW- Love the new blog design. Heather is my cousin and she sure did a cute job!
Now I know what you've been up to! Too bad we didn't have JEC go to beauty school so we could both get roots done for cheap! haha You look beautiful dahlink!
Awesome...it looks great. Don't you always feel fabulous after your hair is done. I need an appt too. I would highlight mine (used to), but like you said, it adds up too fast. You look beautiful!!
Your blog looks AWESOME and you look gorgeous. I'm going to try switching to semipermanent haircolor, I think.
