My day today

  1. In my last class of the series but guess what? It's the WORST teacher -- the same one I had last fall and I learned nothing from him. He reads from the book and if you ask him a question about the material, he has to look everything up in the book before he'll answer. I know I say this every time but I'm honestly scared I won't pass this test the first time. Wednesday, 1 PM Pacific...prayers are always welcome.

  2. I went out to dinner with two families I love and we celebrated Cinco de Mayo. Did I bring my camera? No. Because I'm lame. But we were near the Puget Sound (big body of water, in case you were wondering) and took a walk on the pier near the restaurant. So fun. It was sunny and beautiful but windy and cold. I was just grateful for sun.

  3. After dinner, I went over to Kim's because she had gone to Trophy Cupcakes earlier today and I finally got to try the toasted marshmallow cupcake (the one the owner demo'd on Martha, shown below.) Anyway - I love the frosting (Kim didn't so much.) But I'm a marshmallow fan and I thought it was heavenly. I only ate a couple of bites because it's late and I want to save it for tomorrow.

  4. While I was saying goodbye to Kim and Kara, I heard something and looked up and there was their bald eagle (they have a pair that built a nest in one of their trees last year.) Anyway, he/she wasn't in the nest tree but another tree that I have since dubbed "the bathroom" because one look at the ferns below the tree, and you'd agree with me. Anyway, it was so fun to see. I love eagles!!

  5. My youngest sister, Jen, has a blog. She lives in Hawaii and gets to do fun stuff plus she has four darling kids and a great husband who's in the army. You really need to go check it out sometime -- specifically today's post and yesterday's. Two keywords to draw you in: NKOTB and a skull.

And I'll finish with a pic of Kim's eagle from a month or so ago. Isn't she just so lucky to have him as a yard-mate?
